Art Work: Rebellion to Tyrants is Obedience to God

Last year I created this image, as I thought the original phrase would be useful to us now, in the future.  It is of Moses parting the Sea, with, the Flaming Angel looking on.

Today I was typing up some thoughts, below, when I overheard Beck refer the obverse side of the Great Seal.

Rebellion To Tyrants Is Obedience To God.

Just say “no” to corruption and separativeness; anywhere, anytime.

Gayle McCormick: Smith

Gayle McCormack, Smith
one of my favorite vocalists:

notes from here:
Another St. Louis Band Gayle McCormick is just totally a wonderful woman.
Smith were discovered by 1960s rocker Del Shannon in a nightclub in Los Angeles, California. McCormick had started her career singing songs by Tina Turner, Etta James and others of that ilk. Shannon arranged “Baby It’s You” for the group and got them signed to the ABC-Dunhill label. Smith released an album titled A Group Called Smith which spent 11 weeks in the Top 40 album listings of the since-called Billboard 200 record charts. On the album, vocals were split amongst Rich Cliburn, Jerry Carter and McCormick. Smith recorded a second album titled Minus-Plus with lesser success. Smith’s version of “The Weight” was included on the epochal Easy Rider soundtrack because The Band’s version, which appeared in the movie, was not

Net Neutrality

Hands off, in general.

What’s broke?

Part that stands out the most to me is the TIMING … and yes, the name, granted — anything government puts out that sounds like “freedom preservation” sounds restrictive.

It’s b-a-a-a-c-k
August 4, 2009

Loose translation: The best new technologies designed to meet America’s growing demand for online content will be held hostage to the whims of Congress, federal regulators, and ultimately judges who must referee the inevitable lawsuits.

On the final day before Congress adjourned for its August recess, Representatives Ed Markey and Anna Eschoo introduced legislation that would impose neutrality regulations over the Internet. Their bill, the Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2009, is similar to the net neutrality bill that Congress voted down in 2006 by a wide margin.

Parts of the bill aren’t that unreasonable, though they’re probably unnecessary. For example, the bill would amend

Groupthink

Last Free Voice
overview of Groupthink, from Irving Janis.
Review other articles on vMEMEs and bias.

In 1972, Irving Janis, in his book Victims of Groupthink, added a new dimension to the study of group behavior and group dynamics when he described “groupthink” as:

“… a quick and easy way to refer to a mode of thinking that people engage in when they are involved in a cohesive in-group; when the members’ strivings for unanimity override their motivation to realistically appraise alternative course of action… Groupthink refers to a deterioration of mental efficiency, reality testing, and moral judgment that results from in-group pressures.”

(Janis, 1972, p. 9)

That single work seems to have had an immediate and almost historic impact on the study of group behavior.  Since the first publication of Victims of Groupthink, many researchers have been moved to study, to support, or to refute

The following is taken from
Don Beck’s Spiral Dynamics:

It is a way of looking at the various levels of consciousness. Ken Wilber has expanded upon this most prolifically. and wow cool new site for Ken (including mystery meat; haven’t seen that in ages, except on Alan’s Khepher site (where he talks about the cult of Wilber … ).

Discovery Method

http://www.niquette.com/books/sophmag/heurist.htm

Many of the problems I will assign during the coming weeks do not have enough data. Better get used to that. Oh yes, and some will have too much data — more than you need.” The instructor managed an amiable smile. “Which is worse, not enough or too much?”

“Not enough,” someone called out.

“What about contradictory data?” the instructor asked.

The class inhaled.

“That’s another cruel fact: Some of your problems in this course will have contradictory data — for which I make no apology.”

“How will we know we have the right answer?” asked Humorless Expressive.

“You won’t. But it’s only worth a C anyway. Indeed, there may not be a right answer. Try to remember: In this course, the answer — right or wrong — is not the end of anything. It’s the beginning of something else. Usually the hard part. Back

Social Singularity: through the needle’s eye

More thinking ahead.
http://www.jrmooneyham.com/through-the-needles-eye.html

A few paragraphs to hint:

The evolving model singularity

As of 2005 the concepts of artificial evolution and modeling have not yet been fully integrated. Instead, they exist as separate efforts to adequately simulate chunks of the real world in virtual space, and getting physical devices or software to improve in quality and performance at an accelerated pace via evolutionary strategies and tactics. Eventually these efforts will come together and feed off one another, to vastly increase the speed of potential innovation across the board.

In this stage will be possible major leaps forward in hardware, software, and bioengineering projects of all kinds.

Again, there will be formidable opponents to certain aspects of this process. People and organizations who will strive to stymie or warp or skew such advances in various distasteful– even psychotic– ways, rather than allowing them to blossom across

New World Conspiracies and Superstition

Vic here. If you read of New World or New World Order in the Bailey books (of which I am an astute student, not a Capital “B” Believer. ) then realize please that THAT New Age or New World Order is NOT the one explained here, with great charts.

The theft of a term like ‘new world’, etc., that may hint at inevitable evolutionary developments of the human race need not turn into a devilish conspiracy. We need not be so superstitious as to attack, or run away, simply because someone uses a term that has other meanings than you may be familiar with, and with which your normal stereotypical impression is ‘bad’.

I speak of evolution of the human race, which in terms of looking at species, seems like an inevitable development. Let’s not nip ourselves in the collective
